Ishibei Koji Lane, Higashiyama, Kyoto
This location is described as the most traditional site in Kyoto in the official website run by Kyoto City. Our guest house, Du-Ran Samurai Inn is situated in this fabulous location. For over 34 years, we have operated Du-Ran as a café by day and as a luxurious lounge for members by night. The whole adjacent building of traditional Japanese inn architecture is secured as the space for our guest house.
This guest house consists of six rooms, with the living room facing the Japanese courtyard garden called tsubo-niwa. Guests can enjoy the perfect view of the five-story pagoda lit up during the night. There are two staircases for use with the deepest part serving as the annex of the inn. Guests can freely enjoy all those rooms and facilities during their stay in Kyoto.
The location is just amazing!
Easy access to major historic sites: two minutes to the Kodaiji Entoku-in temple, three minutes to the Yasaka Jinja shrine, five minutes to the Kenninji temple and fifteen minutes to the Kiyomizudera temple, all on foot.
Along the historic alley lined with traditionally preserved buildings, shops selling a variety of souvenirs can be found making this a perfect location for shopping during the daytime and providing a different atmosphere of the ancient capital in the evening.
